We went to the Temple on Conference Sunday. Since the Stake Center is the main floor of the building, we thought we might get to watch a little of Conference. Unfortunately, the building is closed for refurbishing. :( It was still neat to see the Temple in the middle of Manhattan. We just got off the subway, looked up, and there was the Angel Moroni.

To be honest, never once felt like my safety was compromised.
The top of the Rock is the top of Rockefeller Plaza. It is the best place to get a picture of the Empire State Building at night with all the lights on.

Our second day there we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to a pizza place recommended to me called Grimaldi's. It was worth the walk. This pizza was so yummy, we thought about going back the day we left, but ran out of time. They pack you into this place, seating you wherever their might be enough seats for your party. They toss the pizza right there, throw on some fresh mozzarella, fresh sauce, basil and then put it into a brick oven to cook. The slices are big and you really do have to fold them over to enjoy the experience. As Rachael Ray would say, "Yumm-O".

The sun was out only one day while we were in NYC. Luckily it happened to be the day we spent in Central Park and at the Central Park Zoo.

We rode the ferry over to Liberty Island. It was a cold morning, and even colder on the island but worth it. We got to go up into the monument to the base of her feet. No one gets to go up into her crown since 9/11. Visitors safety was compromised because they realized there was only one exit/entrance once you were up in the crown.....not too safe when there are 1,000 people lined up the spiral staircase to enter the crown.
