Yep, that's my child

So last night we went to Chuck E. Cheese's for Kenny's niece's fiance's birthday. Anyway, we sent Livvy off to play with her cousin Lydia and all was well. Or so we thought. While sitting at our table talking with Kenny's brother and sisters, I decide I need to be a good mom and check on my daughter. I start looking around and asked Kenny, "Do you see Livvy anywhere?" As I scan the play area again I notice a birthday party going on and Chuck E. entertaining the crowd. I almost paid no further attention to it until I notice a blond little girl with barely any hair standing on a chair holding a plate in the midst of this birthday party. Can you imagine my embarrassment when I realized it was my child!!! I rush over to the party and apologize for Livvy. The mom says kindly, "That's okay, we figured her mom would come for her soon enough." Now add a beat red face of embarrassment to my demeanor. I try to walk away from the party and Livvy starts to throw a fit, "I want birthday cake, I want birthday cake". I try to explain the party isn't for us and try to distract her by taking her to the prize counter to turn in her tickets. She seemed appeased and shows off her Tootsie roll and plastic ring to her father proudly. We put on our coats, say goodnight to family and get in the car. All seemed well, but as we drove off Livvy says again, "I want birthday cake.". She didn't give it a rest until we got home and she was able to cuddle with her blankey, aka special blankey. I wish I had taken a camera to get a picture, but at the same time I am glad I didn't so no one can call me on being a neglectful mother.

Growing up too fast

My kids are getting so big! Micah had his first cereal on Saturday night. He seemed to really enjoy it. Most of it ended up all over his face, but he slept well that night so I am thinking it filled his tummy up too! We are working on rolling over now. He gets up to his side, but gets so frustrated he just rolls back to his tummy. It is quite cute.



Livvy has become a little mommy. She has wanted to feed Micah his bottle numerous times in the last week. I was making a bottle for him on Friday and she came up to me and said, "I want to drink him Mom". I thought she wanted to drink his bottle so I told her the bottle was for brother, that she wouldn't like what brother was drinking. She got mad at me and said again, " I want to drink him". She was reaching for the bottle, so I gave it to her to see what she would do. She walked out of the kitchen into the living room and proceeded to put the bottle in Micah's mouth.

I realized she was trying to tell me she wanted to feed Micah, so I picked her up and put her on the couch. I put Micah in her lap and gave her the bottle. She did such a good job. She kept the bottle up, talked to him in a little sing-song voice, and nuzzled his head as she fed him.


She is turning into a really great helper and an awesome big sister!


Micah wasn't so sure about it, but his tummy got full regardless.

Changes

So you might have noticed I made some changes to our blog and added music for your enjoyment. My blog is still a work in progress as I learn about new elements to add. I hope you like the changes and nothing is too confusing. I do post a question for anyone who can answer, how to you get post pictures and get them to stay where you want them? I tried to add them to the end of my post and they got moved to the beginning. Then I tried to add them throughout my post and they get moved to the beginning or end. Also, how do you title the picture? I am sure there are more experienced bloggers out there, please help!!

Nothing extraordinary

Well, nothing too exciting has been happening lately. My biggest bit of news is that I started back to work :( So three night a week I get to switch changing diapers at home to changing diapers at work...not the cute little baby butt kind either. My first week back hasn't been too bad, but I miss being at home with my children and Kenny.

I might be crazy too, but I joined a group of women at work and have started training for a race. Not just any, the Wasatch Back. I had never heard of it, but I was feeling adventurous when they were talking about it so I joined. It is a race from Logan to Park City, 176.7 miles!!! Now I like to run and I am okay at it, but don't think I am running the entire race myself, I'm not that adventurous. No, the course is split between 12 runners, each running 3 legs of the race. I'll probably end having run a half marathon, so not too shabby. Some of the race is run at night, we'll see how that goes. I don't know how well I'll do if I have to run at 2am. The race isn't until June, I'll post pictures once it's done, but wish me luck!!

Caught in the act

So I got out two cupcakes left over from Livvy's b-day party. I gave one to Livvy and set the other on the counter. I went into the living room to fold laundry and I could hear Livvy in the kitchen singing to herself and then it got quite. I kept folding laundry and noticed that it was really quite. I thought maybe Livy had fallen asleep at the table because she is known for falling asleep in random spots. So I finish the laundry and walk into the kitchen. She hears me and looks up with a guilty look on her face. She quickly pushes a cupcake away from her and picks up another cupcake on the table. She had eaten all the frosting off of her cupcake and had used the chair she was sitting on to get the second cupcake from the counter and was in the process of eating the frosting off of it when I caught her. I just laughed because she is such a little sneak. I picked up my camera and Livvy holds up her cupcake and says, "Here Mom, here's your cupcake". Boy is she a ham!!!

I know I promised actual pictures from Livvy's party, but would you believe I didn't take any!?! Luckily my sisters did and I am waiting for copies. There are some pretty good ones of my brothers playing balloon tag.
